• VAT Returns - May now be submitted to HMRC electronically from within Sage 50 Accounts 2008, reducing your paperwork and saving you time. This technology has already been established in Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 50 Accounts & CIS. VAT Return processing has been grouped into one module for simplicity and clarity.
• Manual Adjustments - May now be made to your VAT Returns, if for example you use a non-standard VAT scheme, or your accountant needs to make a correction. Adjustments are recorded with explanatory text to allow easy reconciliation in the future.
  
  
• VAT Return Identifier - Each transaction is now recorded with a VAT Return number making it even easier to trace them back to a VAT Return for audit and checking purposes.
  
  
• EC Sales List - If you trade with other countries in the European Community, you can now produce and electronically submit your EC Sales List in the VAT module. The EC Sales List can be further analysed to show the individual transactions that make up the list totals.
  
  
• Carousel Fraud - Legislation to combat VAT "Carousel" Fraud was introduced on 1 June 2007, changing the way businesses must record and report the sale of mobile phones, computer chips and certain other goods. Sage 50 Accounts 2008 includes reports that identify transactions that must now be reported/recorded for HMRC.
