Instant Accounts Day 1 - Getting Started
This course will teach you all you need to know to make sure
you have installed, set up and configured your Sage Instant
Accounts program for best use with your business. In no
time at all you will be able to progress to actually using
the program to do what it’s designed to do.
About the Course
This one-day course is the first stage of essential training
for new users of Sage Instant Accounts or Sage Instant Accounts
Plus. It concentrates on all of the features you need to
get to grips with in order to set up and start using your
software. After this course, we strongly recommend you progress
onto Day 2 training as quickly as possible.
Installation
Learn how to install your new software problem-free!
Company Preferences and Company Settings
Discover all the features relevant to setting your accounts
package up for best use with your type of business.
Basic Concept
Gain an overview of the integrated sales, purchase and nominal
ledger systems used in Sage Instant Accounts programs.
Creating and Amending Accounts
Learn how to set up the Chart of Accounts, create customer
and supplier records, how to tailor nominal ledger records
and account names, and how to alter the layouts of the
Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports.
Opening Balances
Understand the choice of methods and implications for Standard
VAT and VAT Cash Accounting, and how to make checks against
your previous system. This session also features the new
Accounts Analyser feature supplied with Version 10 of Sage
Instant Accounts.
Customising Sage Instant Accounts
In this session, learn how to get the best out of your Sage
Instant Accounts program. Look at the My Business Setup
feature (new with Version 10), ensuring you have the program
tailored to suit your business type, and also look at a
different way of performing tasks through Task Based Navigation.

Instant Accounts Day 2 - Operational
Features and Transactions
This course follows on from Stage 1 and takes you right through
from entering bank transactions to ensuring you are able
to correct any mistakes you may make in using the program.
About the Course
This one-day course is the second stage of essential training
for Sage Instant Accounts and Sage Instant Accounts Plus
users. The course is primarily aimed at new users to the
software and concentrates on making sure you can perform
the fundamental accounting transactions within the program – such
as bank, customer and supplier transactions, and invoice
production. This course is necessary for problem-free accounting.
Basic Data Entry
Learn how to record invoices and credit notes, customer and
supplier payments, make e-payments utilising the e-banking
facility, cash and bank receipts / payments, credit card
transactions, processing of expenses and recording journal
entries in the nominal ledger.
Access Rights
Learn how to control operators’ access to different
parts of the program through password protection.
The Product File
Learn how to use the product file to simplify invoice production.
Understand choices for coding structures.
Basic Stock Management
Discover how to plan and maintain stock records, post opening
levels.
Invoice Production
Learn how to create and post invoices based on the product
file. Also see how to produce service-style invoices.
House Keeping
Learn why and how to back up and restore data, and also how
to check and verify data.
Error Corrections
Familiarise yourself with
key routines for correcting posting errors and reversing
transactions.

Instant Accounts Day 3 - Making the
most of Instant Accounts
This course will show you some of the more special features,
helping you to help your business. You’re now reasonably
well versed at using Sage Instant Accounts, having installed,
set up and configured the program, as well as posted your
first accounting transactions. Now you need to get to grips
with more of the helpful utilities within the program, making
sure you are getting the most from your investment.
About the Course
This is aimed at users of the software who are familiar with
the basic concept of the program and basic data entry routines.
Ideally, delegates will have already attended Day 1 and
Day 2 training and understand many of the fundamental operations
of Sage Instant Accounts. This course is necessary to continue
with problem-free accounting.
Global Search
Learn how to interrogate your Customer and Supplier details
to enable more accurate reporting.
Credit Control
Discover the credit control features, how to “check” credit
worthiness through a web link to Dun & Bradstreet, and
set and monitor credit limits within the program. Also learn
how to produce statements and letters.
Interest on Late Payments
Look at how to calculate interest on late paying customers.
Introduction to Report Designer
Hands on experience in how to edit a customer letter.
Task Manager
Throughout the course we will show you how to use this integrated
time-management feature, helping you to organise your day
more effectively.
Graphs and Export Data
Learn how to edit graphs and charts quickly and simply, and
export data to MS Word and Excel.
Microsoft Integration
In this session we show you how to use Microsoft Word's mail
merge feature to send letters to your customers and suppliers.
We will also discuss how to transfer your important Sage
Instant contact information into Microsoft Outlook.

Instant Accounts Day 4 - Period End
and Management Tasks
With this course you will become fluent in the language of
period end routines, and knowledgeable in how to run those
routines
on your Sage
Instant
Accounts program. Its important work that you’re doing,
and it’s important you do it right. This course will
show you how.
About the Course
This fourth and final day of Instant training is aimed at
users of the software who are familiar with the basic concept
of the program and basic data entry routines and are looking
to perform management tasks such as month end reporting,
year end reporting and the VAT Return. Ideally, delegates
will have already attended all previous Instant training
and understand many of the fundamental operations of Sage
Instant Accounts. This course is necessary to complete your
training and continue with problem-free accounting.
Recurring Entries
Learn how to automate regular postings and recurring entries,
such as monthly direct debits and standing orders.
Bank Reconciliation
Discover how easy it is to reconcile your bank account within
Sage Instant Accounts against your bank statement.
e-Banking
Taking bank reconciliation one step further, for Internet
and e-banking users, we look at how to download your electronic
bank statement into Sage Instant Accounts, and how to perform
the e-reconciliation process.
Using Multiple Charts of Accounts
Learn how to set up multiple charts of accounts so that you
can select different levels of details in your Profit and
Loss and Balance Sheet reports.
Reporting and Running the Month End Routine
Look at how to generate some of the standards period end
reports within Sage Instant Accounts, including Sales and
Purchase Ledger reports, Profit / Loss, Balance Sheet,
Budgets and the Audit Trail. As part of the reporting sequence,
discover how your month end routine will be processed by
the program.
Running the VAT Return
Discover how to produce and reconcile a VAT return.
Running the Year End Routine
In this session we will show you how to run the last important
period end routine – that of the Year End. In this
session you will learn how to clear the Audit Trail, run
your Year End processing, and how to prepare for your forthcoming
financial year.

Unlock the wealth of information stored in your Sage Instant
Accounts program. Learn how to use the MIS feature (new
with Version 10), which provides an elegant an easy-to-understand
graphical representation of key management information.
